The Engagement Party...

(Kim) On the 16th of June Glenn and I joined our families to celebrate our engagement over dinner. It was wonderful to be able to share a meal with the people who mean the world to us (with the exception of those who are a world away!) as we intend to share the rest of our lives with them as well!

After dinner our friends began to join us for a few drinks. We had friends that have been around since the dawn of time and those who have only been in our lives for a short time that came along to celebrate this special event that has been years in the making! Whilst Glenn and I were mingling my camera was on an adventure of its own... it wasn't until quite a bit later that I realised the mischief my sister Christie was up to!

Glenn and I both wish to extend an enormous thanks to everyone that was able to make it and to those who gave us a gift... your generosity is greatly appreciated! Personal Thank You's are on their way, but until they reach you... THANKS!

Not ANOTHER Bridal Expo...

(Kim) I can't believe I have subjected myself, my bridesmaids and my mother to 2 bridal expos already! I have to say thank you to all of them for their patience with me at the event because I was ready to pull my hair out by the end of each one... there is just so much to absorb at those things!

We went to the eBridal Expo on the 6th of May at the Fremantle Passenger Terminal, then the Bridal Expo at Burswood Grand Ballroom in June and already I am over them. There are a lot of DJ's, celebrants and bridal dress store reps but nothing that really made me interested.

The only place I developed a real interest in was a Bridal gown boutique in Guildford, Pearls Bridal. When Mum and I looked at the dresses by Jasmine Bridal I fell in love. I have an appointment on the 14th of July (Bastille Day!) to trial some dresses so I will let you know when I have found the one (Dress, not future husband... I already found him!).

I have discovered a lot of what I don't like by visiting the expos, so it has made some of my decision making easier. For Glenn, he waits until I have two options to choose from and he is happy to make a decision from there. It works for me :)

I don't know when the next expo is on, and at the moment I really don't care! I am just happy knowing that our plans are coming together nice and slow... but the venues are all booked!

The venues are booked...

(Kim) I am so excited to share with everyone that we have all of our venues booked! The ceremony will be held at our church, Subiaco Church of Christ which both Glenn and I are really happy about. We have never seen the building prepared for a wedding so we are interested to see some photos and stuff. I will have to get onto that - not that it will change our minds!

Although it makes for a very long drive, we have booked Araluen Botanical Gardens as our official photo venue. When Glenn proposed I told him that I wanted to get married in September so that we could have our photos at Araluen during the Spring Tulip festival and my wish has come true! For those of you who have never seen the gardens at that time of year, I seriously recommend taking a visit... it's amazing!

A few weeks ago we booked and paid the deposit for our reception centre, Caversham House. The property and the house itself are both beautiful and thanks to my mum, I don't know that we could have picked a more beautiful venue for our special day.

Not much to update...

(Glenn) Well not much to update. Deposit was paid on the Reception Center, Church is now booked and we're waiting to hear back from the photo location place.
