(Kim) This time it's my turn to make a fuss of my bride's maids! On the 8th of September myself and the girls are going on a girls day out! First thing in the morning I have an appointment at Pearl's Bridal to try my gown on to show all of the girls in the bridal party before we head out to Caversham House for brunch. It was going to be lunch but it turned out that the only appointment I could get was at 8.30am! After we eat we will be shopping for the girls' dresses for my big day!
Once the dresses are confirmed it will be off to the florist to make decisions about the flowers... decisions, decisions!

The Regal Limousines

(Kim) Absolutely sick of looking at cars at Bridal Expos and in magazines, I got on the internet and had a look at wedding cars in our area. I had to remember all of the things my Mum told me was important; time, colour, distance they would drive, how many people would fit and most importantly... would my dress fit in it?!?!?!!
I came across Regal Limousines and they looked just right. I showed Glenn and he agreed so I rang and made an appointment with Bryan to have a look at the cars. On Monday night Glenn and I jumped in the car and took a drive for about 10 minutes and we were there! Bryan showed us one of the two beautiful Royal Daimler limousines that we were interested in.
Glenn and I took the time to take a seat, and I had the opportunity to pretend that I was climbing in to the car with my beautiful gown on. It gave me the chance to test Mum's theory on getting in and out of the car on the day and it seems as though we have made the perfect choice, so another item on our list of things to do has been ticked off; the cars are booked!
The Honeymoon Plans
(Kim) Now this has been a point of deliberation! Because we never really set a "budget" for our wedding, we have tried to be sensible none the less. Unfortunately with a holiday to the USA for Christmas this year, we wont be able to afford what we really wanted to do for our honeymoon. Our original plan was to spend a couple of weeks in France, as Glenn and I both loved Paris and there was so much more we wanted to see.
As this option is now sensibly off the cards, we have decided to try and capture a piece of all of the little things we have wanted to do over the years and squash them all into a couple of weeks on the East Coast of Australia.
I want to go on safari, explore theme parks and go shopping. Glenn wants to go on a tropical holiday and lounge on the beach, drinking cocktails. We have decided that we can actually do all of that by flying into Sydney (shopping), fly into Dubbo (safari), drive to Brisbane (theme parks) and then fly up to Cairns and see the Barrier Reef (lounge on the beach drinking cocktails!). We thinks it's an awesome compromise and we can explore another overseas holiday in the future.
For those who are considering a gift for the wedding, we will be providing details in the future for our Bridal Registry at the travel agent we decide to book with.

The Bridal Party
(Kim) For Glenn and I, the decision on who to chose for our bridal party has been really important. For me, it was so easy! I have two sisters of my own, neither of which I would get married without, and a new sister that I don't want to get married without! I have decided not to choose a Maid of Honour but I know that Robyn, Christie and Lawrie will all be stunning bride's maids and I can't wait to celebrate the year ahead with them by my side.
For Glenn things have been a little harder; so many great friends and family to choose from! The groom's men will be announced when the decision has finally been made!

Our House Is Our Castle
(Kim) Glenn and I have been working really hard to get lots of the little jobs we've been putting off done before the wedding rolls around next year. I want to ensure that the front garden is completed well before then. This means getting our brick wall finished, the infills created and installed, fencing in the back yard, painting the exterior of the house (trying for a rendered look), and all that in between saving for holidays in the USA at Christmas, sewerage connection and so on. With such a long list of things to do before then, things around the house have been a little crazy, but there is no sign of Bridezilla yet. I have asked Glenn to keep an eye out for her, although we are both working hard to make sure that the house is Bridezilla proof for the next 13 months!
I Found THE Dress!
It doesn't matter how many people ask or even who asks, other than the fact that I have chosen my dress, I have decided to keep the intricate details a surprise! A couple of hints that I will give are; 1. It requires a door larger than the average sedan for me to get into the bridal car, 2. It isn't white (!), 3. It brought tears to Mum's eyes! I tried a couple of dresses on at Hobnob Bridal but none of the dresses I tried were quite right. Mum, Christie and Lawrie all kept my head out of the clouds, and trying on those beautiful gowns made it very difficult to do just that! Of all the gowns I tried on, Mum was just not convinced that any of them were THE one.
On the 14th of July, Christie and Mum came with me to Pearls Bridal in Guildford for my appointment to try on some gowns. It was something else to try on THE gown that I had seen at the eBridal Expo in May! When I saw the dress in May I fell in love and I was swooning when I finally got to try it on. Mum had tears in her eyes and Christie was trying to make her cry more by putting the veil over my face but that would have set me off as well!
I tried on another dress that had grabbed my attention but putting it on only confirmed the fact that I was definately in love with the other dress. My decision was made, the gorgeous Jasmine Bridal gown was mine!
