Time Out

(Kim) Work has been really hectic for me so I have decided to take the day off tomorrow to sort a few things out for the wedding and get stuck in to making the wedding invitations.

On Sunday I went into Perth with Mum to check out a necklace I had ordered in the week before from The Glitter Co . I was looking for something that wasn't too over the top and was the right colour to match my dress (yes, apricot!). When we were there last weekend they had the necklace in one colour but I needed to see the colour I wanted so when we saw it on Sunday I bought it right away. It was perfect!

Mum and I also stopped in at Rosendorff's to get my engagement ring polished and check out the mens and womens wedding bands. I wanted something simple and elegant for me, but for Glenn I am really not too sure. We will have to go check them out together I think.

Tomorrow Glenn and I have another Pre-Marital counselling appointment with Pastor Max from Subi Church. Lots of people have told us that they felt it was a bit of a waste of time. Glenn and I have discovered all sorts of interesting things (positive mostly!!!) about each other as well as areas to grow in. It's amazing how much you can miss because you see each other every day.

I have been spending time with my personal trainer Emma working on getting into my wedding dress without corsets and things. I want to be able to enjoy friends, family AND food on my wedding day! Tomorrow I have an appointment at Pearl's Bridal to see how much work I have to do to get into my dress without worrying about being sewn into my dress! Emma told me it was important to be realistic about my goals and have something real to work towards. I am a little scared I have to admit, especially after enjoying so much yummy food in the USA in December/January!

Tomorrow night we are also catching up with Gillian about our cake. Unfortunately we wont get to taste her chocolate mud cake tomorrow because her grandkids ate it all but we are still excited none the less!

I am also hoping to catch up with my friend and hairdresser Lisa to find out about my hair style and accessories for the big day. She's the person I need to give me advice about veils, hats, tiara's, flowers, hair pins, afro's, crimping and teasing... just kidding! Just a few quick questions and a long chat over coffee most likely!

Happy Anniversary Honey!

(Kim) I can still remember the moment we shared our first kiss in the driveway of my parents house in Huntingdale on this day, 9 years ago! I remember the awkward moments confirming my feelings over the days that followed because deep in my heart I truly felt that this was going to last forever. 9 years on so much has happened but my love for you grows deeper and stronger every day. Happy anniversary Glenn, I love you!

Groomsmen

(Glenn) It's taken me a long time to come to a decision on who I would like to share in this very special day of my life. My first, and easiest, choice is my brother Leigh, who will also be the best man. I asked Leigh when we were over in the USA for christmas and I'm glad to say he accepted with a huge grin on his face. My second choice was Drew, my soon to be brother-in-law. I managed to surprise him with my request, which is no mean feat! My last choice is my very good friend David. I have only asked David recently and was happy that he said yes immediately!

So now the bridal party is complete Kim and I can start organising in earnest. I had a look at the calendar just before I wrote this post and September is not far away at all. Time to pull my finger out and get stuff organised.

It's Not Quite Paris...

(Kim) Because we haven't been lucky enough to win lotto since our return from the USA in January (probably the result of not actually buying a ticket!) we have had to choose an alternative location for our perfect honeymoon. Our original plan, failing winning lotto, was to do a bit of a fly-drive holiday up the East coast of Australia. Because I was fussy about hotels and Glenn is adamant that we stay on an island somewhere... we have had to come to a financial compromise. Either we change a few things or Glenn stays home and I enjoy our honeymoon by myself! Well, as you can imagine, Glenn wasn't too keen on the latter or the two ideas so we have decided to change one or two things. The only thing that we have set in concrete is a stay at Bedarra Island on the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland. We are looking at spending some extra time in Cairns or Port Douglas so we will have a chat with Clare (our travel agent) and see what she has to say.

The Bridal Party Is Complete...

(Kim) Well, after many months of deliberation, Glenn has finally confirmed his groomsmen. I have been advised by a certain person that I am not allowed to reveal the details before he does, so I thought I would just give you a tiny bit of a hint... actually no, I wont. You will just have to wait like I did! *mwah*

If The Shoe Fits, Buy It!

(Kim) For the first time in my life I was able to find the absolute perfect shoes for ME! Having one size 10 and a half and one size 10 and 3 quarter's foot is just rediculous, especially when you are looking for something VERY specific. After visiting a couple of random shoe stores we made our way out to Osborne Park to Benelli Shoes . I can't believe I have never been there before! I tried on shoes that were even too big for my feet... can you believe it!?!?! Amazingly enough I was able to find a shoe that fit my description to perfection so I handed over my hard earned money and walked away one happy lady! As they say... "if the shoe fits..."

p.s. Don't ever take Lawrie shopping there again!
